Love Hate relationship

The color #6 is very nice although a bit too grey. I wish it had a little more pink in it, but other than that, if you have a medium or an olive complected skin tone, this is a great nude color. However it needs 2 coats to get that right shade and this is really a one coat product. It is a very runny product, so unless you are a master you will get pool of polish near your side cuticles that will have to be cleaned up immediately. The color number #4 is probably better but it is also a one coat for sure otherwise it looks to white. These are supposed to be sheer, so go with it. Do not try to make them polishes by doing 2 coats and a top coat.

With some polishes that are applied messily you can simply let them dry and they will fall off the cuticle. Nail Veil however will come off of both the skin and nail so make sure you are precise when applying and clean up before it dries. Unlike many nail strengtheners this is not the kind which you can apply a coat to the tip of the nail for extra protection and then paint the whole nail because the color difference and thickness difference is too noticeable. I have done 2 coats and their top coat and it looks nice, but it is extremely difficult to get a good smooth application and it take forever to dry meaning at least 2 hours. if it get a dent or imprint the Nail Smudge Fixer will not work. The Smudge Fixer product is great if you use when wet. It can smooth wet polish, but not remove imprints or chips. Speaking of chips this is really good about not chipping unless you have weak or splitting tips. Then the top will chip. It does not seem to add strength so if you are using this because you have splitting nails you might try another brand. I will not suggest the brands in this review because it seems like a conflict of interest.

You must give your self a full manicure before applying. Any stray nail dust will stay on the nail and ruin the finish. File, cuticle remover, push, quick buff/file, wash, let dry completely then paint. Lotion and cuticle oil after dry. My advice for is one coat of #4 and call it a day. Their top coat is great but takes a lot of acetone to remove which is exactly what you don't want with weak nails. It is a veil let it be a veil. if you want a smooth opaque color try their other formulations.
